on some of the other boards is just short of amazing. I can see how people, especially those looking to get their start, can get discouraged quickly.
The negativity

You have to remember, people like to tell everyone when they have a negative experience, but few post about the positive. Think about getting in your vehicle, if it starts and you go on your way, you think nothing of it, but if it does not start everyone you know is aware you have a car problem in seconds.BUMBACLADWAR, dustinbrock, x1Heavy and 6 others Thank this.

This is nothing..... Wait till you've been sitting for 15 hrs to unload after driving hard all day to get there and be out of water/food and nowhere to crap but a port-o-can. I'll show you negativity.
BUMBACLADWAR, DTP, ChicagoJohn and 20 others Thank this. -
Yeah, it's true. But you need to discount the post that are just "ABC is carp. I hatevthem. Don't work for them." The negative posts that count are the ones with details and the writers show some sense of reasonable perspective. I've hated most companies I've worked for at times and for periods. Hardly any are bad places to work, just not as perfect as I'd hope.fargonaz, x1Heavy, Shock Therapy and 2 others Thank this.

You'll be doing the same thing after a month.Protein Hauler, Western flyer, austinmike and 4 others Thank this.

Lol how true! I'm a new guy coming into trucking and I've worked over 25 years in another trade. I'm leaving a guaranteed 80k profession to do this, which I know I'll make less. But I'm determined to give it a go. People act as if the perfect trade/job is just a stone throw away- but somehow eludes them from getting it!! They need to grow up and grow a set! leave this "crap" business and do something else rather than spew negativity for people who need to give something a chance because their options are limitedstrollinruss, noluck and x1Heavy Thank this.

Most of the negativity is towards the industry in general and how I should stick with an industry that I can no longer stomach doing. Plus it's not like I'm leaving my current job. I need to find a job to replace the one I lost. My wife has an amazing job and has told me to stop talking about it and do it.

Think about it this way, no one writes a truckers stopped and helped them today, at the truck stop/Wal-Mart everyone threw their trash in the can and the place actually smelled decent and not like a stopped up toilet. No one posts about the guy who chose not to wear flip flops, wore a clean shirt, and yes, jeans of some sort, as well as a pair of shoes/boots.
Instead folks post about the guy who took a leak out his door, a dump behind his truck, threw their trash and pee/crap bottles/bags, and trash all over the parking lot. They post about the guy who they swear had not showered in at least a month, and probably didn't wipe their backside since they graduated high school. You will see pictures of guys in sweats, basketball shorts, greasy stained shirts, probably a wife beater, and the inside of the truck looks like a science experiment. Just don't be this guy.
I forgot to add, look at the pictures of shoppers at Wal-Mart, think of how many of those you saw when you shopped there. Those that don't shop there think everyone dresses and acts like them. -
As with most things in life, it's all about perspective and how you choose to look at things. I have some bad days out here, some are a little tougher than others, but the number of good days far outnumber the bad or I would not still be doing this.
Keep a positive outlook and look for the good in each day. It's there.x1Heavy, KillingTime, UsualSuspect and 2 others Thank this. -
its not about the storms in life but, learning to sing in the rain. when things go wrong, work to fix it. dont take it personal, most drivers get treated poorly. good luck
x1Heavy and UsualSuspect Thank this.
