What's up with Google Maps

    I know many use Google Maps on our smartphone or tablets, so if the Mods feel this should be in the cell subdivision, please move it...but it is software so I'll put it here.

    Has anyone updated their Google Maps app lately? Last update put a Ms. Pacman on there and it's a game built into the app. WTF? Google Maps is a very usefull tool, why the heck would they turn this into a freekin game.

    I noticed that as well, updated two days ago and wham there is Ms. PacMan. Just what we need, people using the mapping app while driving and deciding it would be a good idea to play a video game! I will never understand why software developers, or any other product developers for that matter, think they have to always add new widgets and features.

    It is a mapping program, so unless they are adding a useful feature like mile marker identification (something we wish we had in the towing and road service industry) or vehicle type specific filtering they should leave it simple.

    You piqued my interest, so I looked it up. It's an April fool's day joke, Google has done this before. It will hopefully be removed by tomorrow(?)

    I actually uninstalled it...the whole app, not just the Ms.Pacman. I will find something else to use. I really am getting tired of Google's bullcrap. I lothe Apple, but I am starting to hate Google/Android more.

    I'm sure it IS aggravating to many people; I don't use that app much because I go to the same 4 or 5 outta 10 places in my state, so no need. BUT.... I kinda think that's funny as heck. I just pranked my daughter with it....had her look something up on her phone for me, somewhere I really "didn't" need to go, and she was like WTH????? LoL~ I got a good laugh. I always sucked at that dam game anyway, tho.

    They'll put in an option to turn it off soon. The internet is ablaze with angry Google Maps users. I voiced my opinion as well.

    My update came down on the 30th or maybe the 31st. So I'm not sure it's an "April Fools thing"
