Stop Driving With 4-Ways (Flashers) On

What is with the epidemic of "drivers' driving around customer property with their 4-Ways flashing unnecessarily? If EVERYONE at the customer has their 4-ways flashing as they drive you can't tell what ANYONE is trying to do. The idiots where I work claim "security told me to turn them on" except security doesn't tell them anything except "go straight ahead, turn right at stop sign, ask the office where to go."

when you have 4 idiots sitting at a 4-Way stop, each running their flashers, it's a train wreck waiting to happen. 4-Ways are for stopping in a travel lane or shoulder, backing up, and traveling much slower than the other traffic. They are worse than useless, like daytime running lights, once EVERYONE is using them. They don't attract attention if the other 50 trucks nearby are also running them. Your flashing lights just blend into the general confusion and hide your turn signals.

Approaching a driveway or sitting at a Stop sign wanting to turn, which is more visible, your flashing turn signal or the fact the the turn signal on the opposite side from where you intend to turn has stopped flashing?

Turn them off or at least tell us which channel you expect us to tune in to so we can read your mind.

If I had my 4 ways on at Shelly they'd send a squad to rescue me. Idk man, not out there in the "real world" anymore, sometimes I miss it; often I don't.
I was trained that 4 ways are for an "emergency" or "impeding" situation. Has that changed? Heck; I can't remember the last time I pulled mine, TBH.
@scottied67 don't you have a vid on this? No joke... someone does. It's a detractor, for sure. I go into P's FJ's TA's just like you guys, and the blinking lights make me wonder wtf. I'm always wondering if there's a calamity!! Yep, i raise the radidio... (we used to call it that when I was young) and ask why are y'all on the fours.. and NOBODY owns up. I just proceed with caution, get my fuel, make sure my fire-gear is ready, and leave without pause.

    Gnight peeps...

Good call, @tscottme .. i'd love to hear the wherewithals myself.

If asked, then answer. other than that... huh? All I need is my neon vest; steel-toes, paperwork, hard hat, and safety hat.

I completely agree with your logic, just wanted to point out that it has in fact happened. Hasn't been a regular thing by any means but distinctly remember it happening at least twice.

Many of the mega box store d/c's have written rules either posted or that you sign acknowledging you have read and understand them, and one of their rules is use of hazard flashers while on their property. Recently a couple of my company's terminals have posted a sign about their use as well. I agree with it being confusing at times...is the driver backing up....or just sitting there waiting....or doing paperwork before they leave. But rules are rules.
