The news made it sound like it was the truck drivers fault! No mention of charges against the truck driver though.

The majority of them do (use tech), here in the south. Quakers are the ones who really shun tech.

I dunno how they work in the north. I haven't spent any time speaking with any of them. But they're some really straaaaange creatures in my neck of the woods.

I think the Amish we have here, MUST be a break away group LOL

    Like danc said.

I used to pick up at a company called Wayne Dalton in Ohio. It was in the heart of Amish land, out east of Canton. They drive and have electricity, but what blows me away is watching them farm 100 acres with a horse and plow. Now that's one with the land if I ever saw it. and yea they have tractors as well. I saw a beautifully restored 49 Ford 8N being used for it's intended purpose near Lodi a few weeks ago.

I frequent Amish Country, Ohio, and the vast majority of "Amish" you'll see around here in buses, hitching rides, eating at McDonalds, are actually "Mennonites", less strict than true Amish. You'll never see the hardline, old-order Amish doing those types of things.

I sell once a year at a tractor and steam show about an hour west of here
Any way some of the local what I think are Amish come and sell bakery
They all wear the same looking clothes
But the woman don't use stitching but pin their dresses together
The men have their clothes stitched

Yea mennonites are a break away group. One of my friends delivers seeds to some amish in ohio. The have cell phones and a diesel generator, but have to leave thier phones there when they ride the horse and buggy home.
