The safety blitz is not until June, but dot along 90 in the west have multiple checks setup.
Any other areas you guys are noticing?
I know there are big on securement issues this year, all the skate boards were being hassled.
Thanks.
Whats up with all the safety checks?

If you are doing what you are supposed to being securement etc. Nothing for you to worry about is there? It's like anything else in life. People are going to check up on you.
If someone is so lazy and refuse to properly secure loads, then there will always and forever be a income to those enforcement officers checking...magoo68, passingthru69, rexmanno and 1 other person Thank this. -
They must have heard that the enconomy will be up since Trump's in office rumor and wanted to get to your $$ before any other govt agency takes a hold of it or god fore bid "you" get to spend it before they do.

Any state can do a check anytime they want.
Colorado sets up on the 25. Utah man's the scales. There's a certain road in eastern California that goes down to the 10. It has a little pull off for 2 trucks when chp feels like inspecting. Which seems to be frequently. Nevada is a safety blitz all year long. Northbound Vegas and westbound elko. And that's 4 states.
It's no different then any other day. When you should always be prepared for some random inspection because some cop from any state decided to pull you over.fargonaz, rexmanno, cnsper and 1 other person Thank this. -
Arizona sets up an inspection station at the rest area southbound on I-17 fairly often.
But I think this is pretty normal activity, around spring every year they begin to ramp up inspection activity after a long winter with most trucks not being inspected all winter, plus miles and freight begins to really ramp up so they want to inspect more. Then they do it again hot and heavy in the fall right before winter again, the September Brake Blitz. -
Good thing I choose my yearly company, by how new their trucks are.
I dont make any money, but I dont have to pay the pigs either.6wheeler, homeskillet, LoneCowboy and 1 other person Thank this. -

I saw a lot of inspections on 90 around the Chicago area over the last couple weeks. I'm sure they could make a fortune in fines any day of the week in that area. Good for them.
The part that bugs me is the 4-wheelers are still doing their usual 90-110+ mph and the cops couldn't care less. But a big rig doing five over sure does get their attention. -
I saw dot all over pick ups pulling goose necks the past month in iowa. Like every hwy in Iowa. I actually just got some fuel tanks from Iowa yesterday with a friend and we had pickups with car trailers and were fine. My company is tiny and has no actual flat bed trailer for our semis so we use pick ups a lot. They are nice though, brand new f-250s and 350s.
x1Heavy Thanks this.
