majestyk Thanks this. -
I drove by the Poly compound this morning on my way to the cold storage down the street so I could check out the new trucks, but it was too dark...plus it was shift change at the plant, so I had to watch out for the hoard of plant people trying to qualify for the ''Trash Bag 500"4mer trucker and 28 Thank this.

They are red ....hard to single them out as they blend in well with all the other red trucks
They look sort of like this one iirc

No, I left Poly a few years ago to be home more. I currently drive for Marathon Petroleum out of Louisville KY. If any of you guys are interested in being home more and still making the kind of wages you are accustomed too being OTR, fuel hauling is a great career. I'm making way more $ now and am home every day. I still remember my days at Poly fondly and would go back there if I ever decide I want to see the country again. Good luck in your endeavors.mushroom1464, jdrentzjr, Bumper and 1 other person Thank this.

Did a little over 4k miles the last 8 days on this elog. Delivering in Plainfield ct. In the morning. Backhaul is Essex junction vt going to grand prairie tx. Running off recap so I told them I will be a day late on delivering that backhaul to grand prairie. Poly or the broker don't seem to care so all is looking good.
Saw some of the new OTR trucks coming in Friday which is good. For the last month or so my loads have been coming out the old way. For example this load came out Friday and delivered 1750miles or so on Monday morning. Apparently shipping is still trying to get them out with extra time but they went to dispatching them like they use to. Besides that same old crap.majestyk Thanks this. -

In regards to pickups and deliveries, especially multi stop deliveries, how often do you find yourself having to drive thru areas that aren't very "truck friendly"? Like having to go thru neighborhoods or down "Bob's Road" to get to your p/u or del?

Well most places are normal warehouses/distribution centers. We do alot of mom n pops that are easy to avoid if you don't want them but I do them because most of those are easy too. Ive had few places in Pennsylvania that sucked but most of the time a call to the customer and a look at Google maps and it's not so bad.
As far as backhauls besides Christmas trees they have all been pretty easy. I can't think of anything that jumps out at me as a really bad place.
I stay east of i-35 so far but I imagine it's pretty close to the same out west.Rollin and Trollin Thanks this. -
So how do the loads work at Poly? Do they give you a list of available loads to pick from?
