I used to carry my little mutt along when she was a pup and I had a dedicated run.
She chewed my wallet. Destroyed my license, med card, credit cards and a few hundred dollars.
I got upset and let her stay home. Big mistake. Now the wife won't let me take her back out.
dogs- big or small? that is the real question

shih tzu - don't shed hair, they cant eat pork.If interested, best do some research. some cant jump up on a couch. my family has them. about $500.00 for a registered pure bred, some dogs need space, room to run and be a dog.

I recommend a dog big enough to at least defend itself. Had my dog on the truck for 4 years. Many times other loose dogs ran up trying to start a fight. Abby always took them to the ground yelping like screaming banshees.
I recall this one time we were walking along the grass at some rest area and these hippies pulled up in their car about 50 yards away and let their dog out. The dog ran straight bum rush style up to Abby full aggressive. Abby, on her leash took that dog by the snout and pressed it into the ground and held it down screaming. The one chick came over to rescue her dog cussing me out up and down saying it was all my dog's fault lol. I just held up the leash as if to say, it wouldn't have happened if your dog was either leashed or you had voice control of your animal.Last edited: Apr 23, 2017

Whatever you do be sure to research the breed. Some don't need much exercise or to be kept active. Others need an hour or 2 a day, every day. It's ok to want a companion but if you don't get the right breed for the lifestyle, the dog will be miserable and so will you probably.
