It's not really an idle policy but MPG overall, which obviously idle will affect. If you get over the target MPG you get X amount of money for every .1 mpg over the target. I can't remember what the amount is though. They say what they pay out doing that is half of their savings on fuel. Personally, I highly doubt it's even close to 10% of what they save, but it's another way to make money for a driver.
I never cared too much. If it was hot, I was idling, I can't sleep while sweating. On the few slow weeks I had, a couple had some pretty high idle % and no one ever said anything about it.

Thanks for the information DB. Are you still still with Pride? I am still interested in them because of the smaller company feel, nice equipment, and from what I hear the great mileage that their drivers get. They are lower than a few other companies I am looking at when it comes to pay raises over the course of my first year and what they top out at. Although if they are getting great mileage and those other companies are not, I'm sure it would even out or even swing in favor money wise with Pride. I certainly have some thinking to do. Thanks so much for the reply. Take care and stay safe.

I know this post is old but just got off the phone with them.
.35CPM with 2 years safe driving. No APU. 65 mph trucks. And alot of jersey NTY lol.. -
Best of luck to you where ever you decide. -
They don't pay for when you're at a Walmart D.C. For 8+ hours. Good luck getting a response for pay.

I know for a fact, if you are on time for an appointment, and sit for more than two hours, and file detention, you will get your detention pay. I have sat at DC's more than once, and was paid detention.
So if you DO work for Pride, and are not being paid detention, then it is your own doing. Not Prides.tallinthesaddle4life Thanks this. -
One of my best bros is at pride and he's been driving 20+ years OTR and has nothing but good to say....that says a lot about them. I've personally talked to Steve and Brian a few times and they are decent guys.

20 years and 0.38 cents per zip code mile just doesn't cut it for me.
Glad to hear your friend is happy there. I won't waste my breath trying to talk him away from a job he likes.
