Crete Carrier - A Year In Review - Fall 2013 Going Forward

That's a really long break for just a 30 min break might as well take a 10 hour break

 

I'm looking at coming back on the road with crete doing a lot of medical forums for DOT and crete since my eye surgery was a major one for my right eye been a long process and very frustrating one to say the least

Sometimes safety gets bored...I guess Crete hasn't hired enough ex-Fudex drivers and crash numbers are down...they had to find something to do. If crash numbers don't pick up soon, the next advisement will be about avoiding low flying UFO's...or, they'll send one out about proper techniques for cleaning you mirrors.

 

This isn't about ramming your truck off the road. It is about someone taking your truck to use as a weapon in a crowded place such as happened in France and Germany late last year.

 

Im pretty anxious to get back on the road and see how crete is for myself I've heard mixed stuff about crete but my experience was pretty decent before my surgery

 

I talked to a couple of guys I know at the company. One has 23 years. The other maybe 15 years. Nothing much positive to report.
Said they're being talked down to like they are rookies..
Crete in the 90's was a cut above the rest. They've been trying really hard to be no better than the rest for a long time now.
Example : my first Christmas, I went home for 9 days with their truck. (1994).
Now they don't wanna get you there for a day, unless you take vacation.
How times have changed.

 

Dwayne Acklie had about 2100 trucks when I hired on in 1994. He had started with 2 in 1968 when he bought the 2 year old company. He somehow managed to build a successful company and at the same time treating the drivers like they were an important, respected part of the company.
Long live Dwayne Acklie!

 

Crete is now no better than the other megas...they used to be so good they had waiting list...they used to have load select dispatch giving drvrs a choice of loads to pick from...ostergard is a very anti driver person...now that acklie has passed i can only see crete getting worse.
