well they all went to hill assist now, from what it looks like unfortunately they made it so anyone can drive a truck nowdays as long as you can hold a wheel you re good, i know volvo has a great hill assist but i believe so does frl i dont know if it is a standard or an option but its very nice to have, volvo now even has auto engine brake that you can set a certain speed and it will cycle the engine brake as needed to hold you to that speed, again very unfortunate cuz now literaly anyone can drive a truck which is kind of sad and scary at the same time

You said, "now anyone can DRIVE a truck"
That is NOT correct.
What you SHOULD HAVE said, "now anyone can OPERATE a truck"
Just because you can OPERATE it, does not mean you can DRIVE it..
There are a LOT of "Truck operators" out there. Not as many "Truck Drivers".
Unfortunately, most people do not know, understand or give a carp about the difference. -

Going down 18 mile downgrade with an Automated Transmission
SHOJim Thanks this. -
I'm still subscribed to your channel, but man, who can watch a 10 minute video like these? I try, but when I see how long it is, I give up before it really starts.

In my experience. The Peterbilt I had was the ####ing worse and shifted bad.
I didn't learn to love it until the Volvo. And then I drove a cascadia.
Auto cascadia was perfection exept being governed -
My non-truck driving fans who work out of cubicles all day love videos like this.

Unfortunately Volvos engine brake is next to useless unless you're loaded light... marginally better than that of the MBE4000 which did nothing but change the tone of the engine a little lol. I think the D13 is a solid motor otherwise but I hate not having a firm engine brake like that of the ISX and DD15.
As far as the transmission go, Eatons Ultrashift is by far the worst to drive even with the improvements they've made in the last couple of years. As was already mentioned the beauty of the iShift and DT12 is they are built entirely around the engine they are mated to. The Eaton is just slapped on whoevers motor and it shows....especially trying to back the thing.
