Logging off duty while loading/unloading

I'd still log sleeper berth for purposes of a potential split break. The DOT doesnt know if you were in the break room or the truck.

Ive decided to log 5-15 minutes check in, and then sleeper berth. Unless im in a city, then i'll log off duty. As i will be walking across the street to the diner too.

Another potential conflict is when a shipper requires you to be present on the loading dock to count the freight. Since this should be logged as on-duty we should also be compensated for the on-duty time.

You can work past your 70 hours just can't drive past 70 or until you get a 34 hr restart or run off recap hours.

You can work past 14hrs, you can not work past 70hrs

You can absolutely exceed any of your clocks on Line 4. The only limits are placed on Line 3 Driving. Everything else if fair game to exceed.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Why do people spout crap without reading the regs.
Of course you can work however long you want. There are no limits to on duty time or off duty time (well, there is one dealing with teaming, but not applicable here) One can legally work 100 hours straight. One cannot however drive for 34 hours after that 100 hour stint.
Remember all the regs (except that one) deal with driving. On, off and SB affect driving, but it simply limits driving and nothing else.Bean Jr., Razorwyr and spyder7723 Thank this. -
First off you're not loading anything, you're sitting there waiting. I'd go into the sleeper berth and have someone I could trust wake me when it my turn at the rack. Is this normal to wait that long? I could partly understand it if they were taking inventory.
