    Actually, CRE process to get a trainer isn't any different than any other training company. The OPs issue is no flexibility - and understandably so - on the non smoking requirement.

    As with any training company the quality of your trainer is all luck of the draw. You can get a 6 month rookie with no clue, running OTR. Or in my case I got a million miler, on a dedicated coast to coast and home for a 34 every weekend.

    Don't get me wrong CRE has it's issues. But it has less to do with any machiavellian approach of management, then just the shear organizational dysfunction and incompetence of CREs corporate culture.

    It's probably an idiot that never listened in school. I've only recently got my cdl and barely have an experience and already know to take as much space as you need on turns, mind your trailer and if you have a reefer watch for it too if you're making hard turns and near something.
