Fed Ex Almost Killed Me

Maybe he's like me and he's not a sheep, meaning he doesn't like to follow people or travel with a pack of other vehicles. I'm not condoning what he did, but here in ND, I'll run 68 to 70 in a 65 because that's about what the traffic flow is. If I come up behind someone that's running a little slower on the hills, I'll wait until the next spot to pass, go around and continue on my way because I don't like being around other people. And maybe he had to poop real bad, that's why he was in a hurry?

Right! Because if the only distraction that is forbidden is the phone, why does the Qualcomm go blank while the truck is moving? According to his logic it should be ok.

The only thing I potentially saw wrong was he was following to close. If he wants to drive 71 in a 65 it's his business not yours. As far as stopping at the rest area, I guess he had to take a leak. Wtf. I drive slower than most speed limits and get low 9's mpg. This happens every day to me. What's all the fuss.

 

You can push a button to have it read a message to you, but that is not the same as entering an address into a GPS. Many states are forbidding subtractive driving, without defining the activity. So just because using a phone without a hands free device is forbidden, does not preclude getting a ticket for other activities

Go ahead. Tell me a GPS is not a communication device and you cant text on it.

 

No room for you to complain. You should have been in the left lane by that time. Since you were driving at the posted speed limit, moving left would have put the burden on FedEx to pass you on the right before the merge.

FedEx was wrong, but you had plenty of opportunity to make things safer by moving left well before you did. Sometimes you CAN control what others do on the road.
