Or worse, way out in western CO or UT where the cell service isn't the greatest.

The tow truck driver that came and towed me to North Platte said another 100 miles West and it would be a toss up between him and a company out of Denver. I always try and look on the bright side when a breakdown occurs, like maybe if I hadn't broken down a bullhauler barrelling East at 90 mph would have come across the center line and taken me out.
The company offered to put me in a hotel tonight, but I'm much more comfortable in the truck, so since the dealer can't get me in tonight I will just stay in there lot tonight. Got my fingers crossed that it isn't the flux capacitor.

Well it wasn't anything to do with the turbo, the high pressure rail fuel system has to be replaced, everything. The fuel pump, all the lines, they found metal shavings in the system, drain the fuel tanks. After speaking to the mechanic, he said Detroit has had the same issue a lot with this motor and the fuel system
So I'm in a hotel waiting on another one of our drivers to swing by tomorrow to pick me up. They will put me in another truck tomorrow, get me back through the dealer to get the rest of my stuff out of the truck and keep rolling. Break downs suck, but unfortunately they come with the job. Looking on the bright side, at least it didn't happen running across I15 through Death Valley where is was 118 yesterday.

I was with FCC as an O/O last year. My biggest problem was getting home. I live at the very top of their hiring area in Wisconsin. They have very little freight in Wisconsin. The fleet that gets home weekly are those who live around the Omaha area. Even though I live in the "Midwest" I was not allowed on this fleet since it is based in the Omaha region. Most freight runs in and out of Nebraska. Spent most of my time running NC and GA. Nice company to work for.

In three months I've only been to Wisconsin once, so I can see where that could be an issue.

Finally got back to Fremont to get in a spare truck until mine gets fixed. Picking up a load in Lincoln tomorrow headed back out to Ontario, California. I will swing back through North Platte tomorrow and get my TV, microwave, and a few tools out of my other truck.

    Crusader66 Thanks this.

How much northwest? I'm a sucker for Snoqualmie and the Cabbage Patch.

Also, are they sticklers on the 2 yr otr requirement? I have 18mo, with 4 of that local.

We have freight that goes to Oregon and Washington. I have been to be both three times in the last three months. Depending on what your driving record and PSP looks like they would most likely make an exception. Wouldn't hurt to call recruiting.
