    Paper logs will continue to be legal after December 17. You need to carry a few pages with you to back up your eld if it fails to work.
    Pre 2000 drivers can continue to use paper.

    Yes sir you are correct I was referring to the mandate regarding the date that eld will become mandatory for most.

    I didn't know that about the driver being pre 2000, i thought it was the truck that had to be pre 2000! Thanks

    Your welcome. Yep if you have been a driver before 2000 you don't have to use an ELD or an AOBR.

    Make sure you tell the DOT you read it on the internet.:)

    I'm glad he wasn't on duty early morning last year as I hit the expressway with one contact lens bout 100 miles from an americas best. Wasn't to bad once the sun rose but before then. "Did I just see a horse...is my lane ending.. etc. As far as the crackdown in Michigan. My current doesn't travel that way much but like a previous poster said if you operating legally there's nothing to be worried about except for the occasional border line misplay.

    They're also known for their extra ####ty roads that shake your teeth loose as you bounce down them.
