I am wondering if TMC is as good as people say they are, why do they have so many potential drivers going through orientation a week, do they have that many trucks to issue out?
Curious

Turn over rate is high. Happens to most Mega OTR trucking company. It's like they are losing drivers faster than they are hiring.

Tmc is a decent company to learn basic flatbed hauling skills. They offer a decently high percentage rate, but you'll have to busy your balls in order to get the highest amount. You could theoretically stay with them your entire driving career, but they will hold your hand on everything. I got away after 5 months. Won't look back either
buddyd157, Highway Sailor, Broke Down 69 and 3 others Thank this. -
I was with them for almost a year. I would never go back to them either.
buddyd157 Thanks this. -
The only good thing I could say about them is I went through the CDL training course. The instructors were great and my trainer was great. My fleet manager was horrible. Did everything I was supposed to do like parking up on Sunday night and getting unloaded early Monday. Supposed to get the better paying loads, but that never happened. I could give several examples about this.

They were a good company for me overall. I was with them 5 years. The planners and planning are the keys to your success. Got to the point to were I had to move on due to the micro managing. It was my belief and still is they will only let you make so much money.

As long as you can put up with the micro managing and other stupid b.s. they are a good company. Solid money, and a top notch training program. Will get you home every weekend normally as well . 55k a year as a solo driver can be easily achieved with weekends at home.

Same thing happened to me as it did with Gunner75. Was second on the board in Michigan once. Supposed to have 4 loads of steel bar going to southern Kentucky, payed pretty well. I didn't get any of them. Senior drivers got those. I got a crappy paying load of crane mats.

They gave me a load from Lynchburg,va to upstate NY while I was in Maryland around dc on Thursday. I didn't have the hours to get to Lynchburg until Friday morning drop and hook then head up to NY for a two stop load must deliver by 1500. Told fm I would have no hours left after delivery. He said they would have a drop and hook to pick up Saturday. Saturday comes around.....no trailer. Just a shaft job and a 34 at a pilot on super bowl Sunday.
