I have been driving since 1994. We run basically from Denver out to Topeka, Wichita, Kansas City. A little down to Dallas, Houston.
Home every weekend. Most of our drivers start out at 1,100 week. I've been with him for 2.5 years so I'm a little higher than that.naserrano22 Thanks this. -
$1450/week X 52 weeks ? I think more like 48 weeks what with holidays etc. No driver wants work EVERY week of the year. Also, why not demand 5 yrs minimum experience ? And if truck is down for a period of time, does driver receive his check ? Good luck

That offer is real good. Just be careful who you hire cause people tend to get lazy plus people like to get raises or they don't really feel appreciated. Good luck

Man that is awesome. Thats what i hope to achieve. Weekends at home and on salary. Thats just perfect.

I have 0 dedicated accounts. Thats the down side. having said it. It will be my goal to keep the driver regional so he or she is home for must weekends. And also since I don't have any dedicated accounts i would be more then willing to find a route that will get them home for a particular holiday or even. But i do need a heads up.
On the 52 weeks i will give them 2 full paid weeks. They could choose whenever. i dont have any dedicated accounts. As of yet maybe once i have 5 trucks. i can come off my truck and start looking for direct shipper.
And if my truck is down or needs repair driver would still be on salary. So thats on me.jaso37 Thanks this. -
I met a owner operator and i really like his system. He has 30 plus owner operators now
All of his owner operators at one point were his employees. So what he did was very simple sold the trucks to the drivers and rented the trailers to them. Maybe that's something i can do too. After they drive for a certain time.
I know that would for sure keep me motivated.jaso37 Thanks this. -
If nobody knows your customers, a lot of drivers wont work for you, and most oo dont want to give away their sweet spots for obvious reasons. Good luck.

Sounds good BUT tanker and flatbed drivers can easily earn that kind of money working a 5 day week with medical, paid vacation/holidays, and a W2.
But still with so many people living in trucks for two or three weeks at a time pulling that junk van/reefer freight for $700-$900 a week you can defiantly be very choosy on who you hire. -
I think the key here is the home time. The pay is great but if you want longevity, offer this pay , only take experienced drivers, and strive for at least 3 out of 4 weekends home a month and major holidays off. In my opinion that'll keep them even without health benefits . It'd keep me no doubt and I got 5 years exp no tickets no accident's and a good PSP . I should be in the minimum range of what you're looking for, new and young enough to be hungry but experienced enough to not tear #### up and get the job done.
