I didn't go thru driver solutions, orientation was mainly ppwrk, videos, company polocies, and getting up early.lol I did have to do a little road test and one backing as soon as I got there. I went to orientation in spartanburg though. They don't do orientation there nomore not sure if they still do in vandalia or not. I know they still do in vanburen. Some ppl go out with their trainer first and then orientation, I was glad to do orientation first. I had to wait about a week for a trainer but that all depends on what they have at the time.

they said i would go to ohio for orientation,
van buren by bus would be murder from baltimore, if they dont have a trainer for you right away after orientation will you stay in ohio or will they send you home?? even if i go to usa i wouldnt rule out a quick flight to vandilia out of my own pocket, its 13 hours by bus if theres no delays. 13 hours by grey hound or an hour by airtran, ummm i think the plane would be the no brainer.
straightline backing and alley docking were my stronger skills in yard at school. road i was pretty good with too just need to not use my brakes toooo much i will be fine, i was also the smoothest shifter in my class.
does usa reimburse anything if you drive or arrive on your own?Last edited: Nov 2, 2008

I seen it go both ways, if they had a trainer already there or gonna be there in a day or two after orientation you would stay there if not you would go back home and wait. They could send you somewhere else to meet a trainer though. I went home after orientation then they sent me to w.mem to meet trainer. I hate greyhound or any public transportation for that matter.

Not sure now but they use to would reimburse upto amount of bus ticket.

To be honest with you idk. I do know that a lot of freight moves to and thru there though, I was there twice last week. I run 95 a lot.

I guess the closest terminal would be roanoke,va.

Their terminals are listed on their website...Laredo, TX, Roanoke, VA, Shreveport, LA, Spartanburg, SC, Vandalia, OH, & West Memphis, AR, with headquarters in Van Buren, AR.
