You could also get on the cb radio and let the drivers know you will deliver food, beer or whatever right to their truck for a service fee. Lots of drivers would take you up on that!
"Yah, I'd like you to get me a 6 pack of Bud Lite, 2 corn dogs, nachos and cheese, a couple of those Little Debbie strawberry shortcake things and a pack of Marlboro cigarettes."

Best answer. ^^^ Find a company that will not sit you around . There are company s that will actually work you and fully utilize there equipment. Unlike these mega carriers that can sit trucks and drivers because they have so many trucks.Nothereoften, rabbiporkchop and Lepton1 Thank this.

Something I havent seen mentioned is lumping your own loads. You cant do that in a truck stop, of course, but if you don't have a preload, and the receiver lets you, self-lumping can be good extra income. Just be sure you listen carefully to the people that tell you how to lump in that warehouse.
Talk to your company as well, before you start trying to charge them for lumping.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
And deliver it to the first handicap spot.passingthru69, Scooter Jones, RedRover and 1 other person Thank this.

Saw a guy parked in a handicap spot last night with this stepdeck that had easily 10 chains, probably 300 bungees and 2 lumber tarps covering whatever the #### was on there... parked right in the middle of the 2 handicap spots at the Petro in OKC. He jumped down out of his truck when he saw I was eyeing his securement and asked wtf I wanted. Told him I didn't know inability to recognize clearly marked spaces or park in a single space at a truck stop were covered under the ADA. Then I hauled ### into Iron Skillet for some French toast before the wheels stopped spinning and he realized I'd called him a #######.tucker, passingthru69, Farmerbob1 and 2 others Thank this.

One thing to bear in mind, if you want to be completely legal with HOS, is that time spent on any second job must be logged as On Duty. Now you might never have reason for a legal beagal to look into your extracurricular activities, but if you are involved in an accident that could become a major issue. If you didn't log On Duty for your other income, then you are falsifying your logs and may by definition "never should have been there".
Not only are you putting yourself in jeopardy, you put your company on the hook. -
True, but believe it or not some of the big companies will keep you just as busy.

Right, and show me the driver that actually does this, or the driver that actually goes 10 from bottle to throttleLepton1 Thanks this.
