That's kind of an open ended question since it depends on what the customer wants. Some customers want the freight broken down in layers and stacked by item, some only want it broken apart so it can be counted, some (like overseas shippers) do a count on pallet.
The average rate is about 700 cases an hour, varied by customer. If you have a full truck it can be 6 or 8 hours depending on the number of items (not pieces).
If you have lots of pieces, but a low item number that equals a lot of bulk and it's easier breakdown.
The current rate is .09 per piece, and .22 per item.

x1Heavy and Slick Tiff Thank this.

The 4 on 4 off sounds good, but you are not considered full time, so no benefits. That's the down side

    Slick Tiff Thanks this.

I realize this is a little old, but 4x4 drivers at Dot Foods do get the same benefits package as any other full-time driver. Insurance, 401, etc. CPM is 2 cents less, while breakdown pay is the same.

    Slick Tiff Thanks this.
