I'm posting this to maybe save another driver a headache. I just am finishing up a 34hr reset, didn't want to but had to have a windshield replaced due to rock chip Crack from someone passing me, got dinged by rock. Anyways, had my truck idling for a while, well I decided to run over to the Pilot around dark, shower, etc...well my dash lights wouldn't work, so it took me like nearly an hour to find and check out fuse locations, nope the fuse not blown for the dash lights (was in the fuse box location near the side panel brake area). So I said the heck with it I'm going to bed, deal with it and call into company road service in morning. So I said I'm going to shut truck off and see if computer has to reset something, well after 10 minutes if having truck off, I restarted it, presto the dash lights work good. I saw on another entire different forum of some driver telling another driver to do this on his Peterbuilt, so after being a bit frustrated , I said hey I got nothing to lose, so yep that did the trick.

Had it happen in a 2013 w900 a few times now some times it will reset . One time I had to drive from homestead fl up to sc at night with no dash light pita having to flip the lights on to check gauges every so often. It weird I think somethings gets to hot and need to cool off when it does this...

When you are through the dealer, have the cab controller checked for software updates to correct this condition. Remember, todays trucks everything is controlled by computers and more and more items are operated and are being controlled by them, so often times a reboot will correct the issues at hand. If the problem persists, then dig deeper.

It must be a Paccar issue, my Pete is a '14 and had intermittent issues with the dash lights and/or odometer numbers going blank. Dealership said there was an update, they did their update and I haven't had an issue since.

It was a regular thing on my 2014 KW 660. I have had it happen on my 2016 Pete 597. Yes, it is a Paccar thing. And yes, they always returned after a few minutes with the ignition off.

2018 KW W900, gauges stuck and dash lights out. Only speedometer and tachometer working and lit. Even message center was stuck on clock. Checked and replaced 15A CECU PWR fuse. All working now.

Just got a similar issue on my ‘16 T680. All dash functions were dead. No tach, no speedo, totally dark except for a check engine light, and the HVAV. Shut off while waiting for a washout, then when my turn came to get washed out, it all lighted up like a Christmas tree!
