Well they were the place to be before yellow bought them out. And ppl have been looking for them to go bankrupt since 2012.

Yellow started buying out there competition a while back. But in doing so there was money woes. The retirees only get 85% of there pension funds. And they are pissed saying give us the other 15%. YRC is saying we can't do that. If we do we will go bust. So now YRC hires newbies out of their school. And run them hard at a cheaper rate.

This is the model that's going on at a lot of outfits these days. And it's nothing new. Run the senior drivers off with new polices, or fire them, or force them into early retirement. Then bring in ppl that the company can pay less.

Unions that'll have you waiting by the phone. This isn't new with ABF etc. Seniority rules and the new guys will be on call for work while the big dogs work overtime. Too risky when you have bills to pay.

I have witnessed paystups in drivers boxes in the drivers room at Hahn of New Market back in the 80's where half the fleet's bread and butter is tanker work in fuels. Those pay stubs contained net payouts ranging from 900 to 1500 plus a week every thursday. That is net.

I asked to do tanker work, and was told I needed to be 25 for insurance purposes. That means 4 years on the stone bucket or bulk side first. Ultimately I chose not to include fuels in my hauling for a variety of ancestral experience in war time and later 50's run out on savage with a tanker and my own experiences around tankers that fall down several times a year in Baltimore in certain spots like 83 north off 695.

That was the 80's I cannot imagine the pay today. What with the inflation and such.
