I have one of the 12v Colman coolers that the truck stops sell, had it about 6 or 8 months. Fan is turning but inside isnt staying cold?

Sounds like it's time to replace that silver condencer?
I've have had a 12v in awhile last time I bought one I went with a koolatron I found that they were far more superior.
Coleman's used to be really good , not so much anymore.
You might be able to find the parts you for your Coleman at a TA they use to carry most of them on their shelfs.
With both you also have to defrost them from time to time either by taking a small screw driver or something and chisle the ice of the condenser or unplug it let it melt.
If you don't it will create the problem your having.

Yes I frequently have to defrost the condenser using hot water and then keep the moisture out of the cooler to prevent more ice buildup. Any idea what the cost of the parts are, or is it just cheaper to replace the whole cooler?

I pulled the front cover off and it seems like the large fan isn't spinning as fast as it did before. I used to be able to hear it running and feel the air being blown out, now hardly anything

The fan blade is only about 6 bucks.
Like I said it's been awhile since I had one but I do remember replacing the motor for around 20 bucks.

If the cold plate is freezing but the cooler isn't cool, your fan isn't blowing hard enough.

    driverdriver and CharlesS Thank this.

If it's the kind where there are 2 seperate fans instead of the old style where there was 1 with an inside and outside shaft, you can buy a computer cpu fan at Best Buy...they last as good as the original, and you can buy a larger size if needed.

driverdriver, CharlesS and Bean Jr. Thank this.

Yeah it has 2 fans, but I have no idea when I would get near a best buy, I'll have to try and get parts at a truck stop and see if I can fix it or have to replace it
