    Percentage is no better.

Everyone that owns a truck and leases on to a carrier should demand a fixed weekly rate, whether the truck moves or sits.

If they don't feel any pain when you're sitting still, then they have no motivation to get you moving.

This is a fine example of so called owner ops running down rates. This guy couldn't even afford his first repairs yet claims anyone needing more than a $1.28 has "too much truck". I've got news for ya rookie, I've got zero truck payment and I won't turn the key for $1.28. You're netting less than a company driver.

TripleSix, MJ1657, Eldiablo and 4 others Thank this.

Netting the same which was my goal, plus I provide myself a full benefits package and vacation pay. Although, I wasn't ready fo that many repairs right out of the gate. I bought a low miles truck hoping to avoid repairs for a year. Sometimes you go with the flow. Just have to shift the funds for one week of the vacation and put the IRA payment on hold for a couple months and I'll get through it.

My carrier has no interest in getting me moving, it's called self dispatch. I go where I want, when I want, & if I want. It doesn't matter to them. Why? Because it's my business, that's why. And I'm paid percentage.

    $1.28 lol smh
When it's all said and done you'd earn more being a company driver

When the tax man sticks his hand out you'll see just how lousy that $1.28 is.

I'm a company driver and gross 1,000 a week working @45 hours a week. Home all the time. You stay gone and have a truck to keep running and think making 1,000 a week is good. Lolol. Is this a real post. Lololol.

To much truck maybe you should move to south flordia j hear they got good trucks and great rates ? Really to much truck cause you driving for $1 a mile . If your in that truck for a week or even a few days I'd rather have a nice truck then a truck that allowed me to work for penneys

As far as to much truck goes. I don't care if I buy a worn out used up truck that looks like hell for $5000 or a brand new truck, won't change a thing for the rates that I'm willing to accept.
