Hello everyone, its been a while since I've read some of your pain's and frustration. When I first started my on the road career I was amazed how much abuse some of the companies deliver to drivers and behind our backs they think we are stupid human beings and seems like everyone hates truck drivers when they should look to a truck driver has a hero because they give up part of their life in order for society to get their food and their nice things. I received people giving me the middle finger, banging on my door while sleeping after working all day, telling me to move the truck from a Walmart parking at 5am from their supervisor and after I wouldn't move without an inspection they called the police. So many stories, seems like every day, I had a bad day, with the good, and very lonely day's with family at home. I thought to myself I'm getting so distant from family and life. What turned around was a really bad experience with CELADON Trucking company. After my two days off with me being long haul a week to two weeks out, they given me a load that is 4 hours drive, first day. second day 3 hours drive and send me to the wrong address, a closed company. After I message dispatch they said ohhhh that is the incorrect address we will send you the correct address which was 1 hour away by the way but the delivery is tomorrow. Well after that I was like after this delivery I want to go home or I will leave this truck where I am. After wasting 5 days of my life with this company and making less than working at McDonalds for that week I had enough, I quit, I am now a shunter with steady hours and predictable schedule not a company slave begging to go home but they have no loads to take you home so your stuck days wasting away in your truck. Giving up precious life for an industry that spits on truckers under paid, under appreciated by society, Not even the Government helps Truckers. Companies telling us to wait their hours and hours to get unloaded without pay. Even fueling up 30, 40 min not paid. So much Truckers give that companies don't pay for our precious time. Truckers can be the most powerful industry in the world because truckers are the veins of the country and if all the truckers where to stop and demand a fair deal society would be on their knees starving and companies would loose millions. It's so sad, Government should even have hotels for truckers on the road. Theirs so much that the super rich can do but they throw pennies at people just enough to eat so they can come back for more, like dogs.

And here's why it'll never change. Too many people with this attitude, that out - number those that care.
Every time someone says something like this, I pray their next (under paid) check gets lost in the mail.

It's been so many years since I left these trashy
Mega carriers I forgot how much they sucked.

Smart, experienced drivers don't put up with this crap.
That's why they don't want us. Treat the rookies like
    ####,they don't know any better.

If all you got to go on is celadon, then you never had
    A good gig out here.
These new drivers start at a mega, get crapped on,
Then go to another mega, get crapped on again.
Then come on here and tell us how the whole industry
Sucks and we all work for free and make less that a
    McDonald's employee.

Well I'm here to tell you it ain't true.
There's drivers on here that make more in a week
Than someone at McDonald's does in a month.

Do you really think that we would spend 10/15/20
Years out here for 5/6/7 hundred bucks a week.
Hell no. That would be calling all of us stupid.

It's always the ones who can't hack it,quitting,
Then going home to some 12 dollar an hour job,
Then come on here and tell us how they make
The same thing as all OTR truck drivers.
It makes them feel better when they get their 400
Dollar paycheck at the end of the week.

Your mistake was working for celadon.
Forget that respect stuff, that's just a word
Low paying mega's use to make you feel good.

The good jobs don't preach respect.
They pay you real good, that's thier respect.

Making good money too with ot time and half. Bit more work but its all worth it. Still Trucking. Dont take the bs only you can change the world.

Wow, I'm so moved by the OP I think I'm going to drive to the nearest snow cone stand, get myself a raspberry flavor, go to the Celadon terminal, go to the manager's office door and when he answers, I'm going to bite the bottom off, suck out all the juice and hand him the cone with nothing left but the ice!

What do think of that OP?

Is this a haiku? I remember that and iambic pentameter from high school, and I know it's not that.
