New t-shirt idea. "I survived Hurricane Irma, and all I have left is this lousy t-shirt."

They have cancelled the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game (Irma) and rescheduled it weeks in advance. That's what I heard yesterday.

A driver delivered 9000 gallons of gas and 5 hours later he delivered another 9000 gallons to the same station.Florida can't keep up with gas and water.

I bought 2 gallons of water for my truck. I'm only in SC right now but all the water hoarding on tv got me spooked. If Irma hits here I might get thirsty.

All federal restrictions, weights, HOS, etc has been totally and utterly thrown away for those hauling fuel into Florida. They are now to run as hard as they can until they drop as if they are at war, answering to no one and work a thousand hours a week at 100 mph (To paraphrase..) to get as much fuel into florida as possible. The entire state is fixing to need gasoline and desiel in enormous quantities beginning tonight at any price.

Miami Intl will continue to take off and land planes until winds approach 40 mph. Then they will close down and that will be that. The Port of Miami will close as of 8 Am sat. They are a cruise ship capital of the USA. Im not sure if they know enough to abandon the place and sail all the cruise ships away, there is a potential for a 6000 man ship to be blown or shipwrecked against a causeway near there and do a destructive action in the place. The cranes will be locked down, but they are very fragile. If the winds are right over they go. Containers? Well if there is a eye wall passing over that yard full of them... you do not want to be around. They will go flying.

There is a huge amount of help going down there now. Keys being evact, all hospitals being evac visitors told "Out." Mobile homes also told Out. and so on. If you intent to stay, no one will help you once the winds reach a certain speed. You will literaly be on you own with a prayer and God.

It looks like it will reach the keys then turn north straight up the entire state into Georgia. That makes me somewhat both worried (I have family there.. they cannot be so stupid as to stay. But you never know...) and happy that we don't have to deal with it.

What no one is talking about is there is a hurricane number two behind Irma, this one will turn north at some point before the Leeward Islands and aim at Cape Hatteras. There is a third in the Gulf west area where it's just a little baby cyclone at the moment. Nothing of concern.

I'd love to see where you got that information about fuel haulers. It sounds like BS to me.
