I have been driving a company truck here almost 2 years, owned by quality distribution, they'll keep you moving, mostly home every weekend, owner ops can run when they want or tell their dispatch they are going home a few days. Insurance not the best, but it works, 50k life insurance policy for company drivers if you opt for it after 90 days when you do insurance paperwork.
Some loads weigh up to 90k but you do have permits, company drivers don't get extra for weight, 25% company pay 65% owner ops.
Made 59k first year here, lot of hazmat loads, flammable, corrosive, poisions mostly. My truck doesn't have a pump:compressor so I don't unload, but they do pay if you unload it. Detention paid after 1 hour $16/hour company, paid $12.50 for putting on placards, (have to take pictures with company tablet before and after)
Overall it's not to bad working at Boasso, just hard to pronounce, Boss so,Rix43, Blue4ever and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
How are owner Ops doing there?any average pay for them? Wat terminal
-
Guys out of Chesapeake, Va doing well, Houston also, I know a couple o/o from those terminals, paying on brand new trucks they specifically ordered w900 and other a 587 Pete, gotta be careful on weight, they want bobtail weight full of fuel to be no more than 19,500, but they do have exceptions, -400 apu and such, Virginia used to allow more because they run a lot of permit loads so you have a blanket permit, usually around $4000 for o/o I've talked too, some do more, but everyone is required to do elog.

Thats 4000 net after all deductions? or is that gross? Before any deductions? Are those guys home often? Or running far?
-
All our loads are out and back, but I'm out all week and home on weekends, usually I leave out Sunday night for Monday morning drop, they're making around 4000 after taxes, then you got plates/insurance etc coming out unless you buy your own plates, they deduct $300/week until it's paid then you can opt for the next years tags to be paid or wait until the next year, I as a company driver average $1000, made $1599 and some change net this week, they don't load company drivers ahead either, because the chassis/tank has to return to terminal you are working out of so when you get back you are given paperwork for next load, if your terminal doesn't have much work for some reason be it hurricanes or whatever, o/o have option of running out of another terminal for as long as the want, or that terminal manager no longer needs you, paid $1.00/ mile to bobtail to that terminal and the same to bobtail back when you're going back to your yard
Tdgraham Thanks this. -
If there bringing home 4000 a week after all deductions im definitely going to go with them and ur home often I appreciate it man
-
They don't do lease purchase, you have to have your own rig, some guys have more than one truck and fleet drivers hired, they do real well, none have empty trucks out of my terminal.
-
Well yea I have My own semi im just wanting to make sure there bring home 4000 average a week if so I'm definitely coming on

I understand, I just got mine leased on, swapped from company driver to owner operator, they require EIN, 2290 of course, w9 tax form, truck scale ticket showing full of fuel weight 19500, mine was over due to cattle guard and apu, but they do make exceptions, I've been talked into going for this by my o/o friends here, so I guess it means I'm not afraid of putting a truck on here, it takes a bit, paperwork and office personnel working on it took them almost 3 weeks to get everything dotted and to quit capitalizing words on every single page.
Insurance and tags can go through company, or have other, must be 5 million worth of freight due to hazmat, they are tagged out of Illinois, trying to remember all the ends and outs but it's been a long day and starting at 430 in morning to finish making my last 620 miles in this rough riding Mack.
Good luck on your adventures, and if you stop by West Memphis terminal I might be there, my home terminalTdgraham Thanks this.
