At the pump today the driver next to me said he puts kerosene in his tanks about every 3 months to clean up the engine. About 10 gallons on a fill up.
Anyone else try this?
Kerosene in diesel.

i think it best to use an actual fuel system cleaner, that is compatible with today's engines and emissions systems.6wheeler Thanks this. -
Takes away from the lubricating properties of an already dry fluid.
Ask him in 3 years when he puts in New injectors prematurely.OLDSKOOLERnWV, BoxCarKidd, Dave_in_AZ and 3 others Thank this. -

Every region is different but here kerosene is at the old levels of sulfur so if your motor is newer than 2007 you'll be causing damage
All the tanker companies that I know of that haul jet have dedicated equipment so there's no risk of cross contamination in either direction
Ps kerosene jet a and #1 are all the sameGrubby, Bean Jr., bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -
I don't know if it'd clean much better than straight diesel. Will thin it out and help prevent gelling in the cold though.

I've seen drivers add a quart of automatic transmission fluid to each fuel tank.

Used to put auto transmission fluid back in the day. Thinking I wouldn't do it today.

One big downside to atf, use enough and you end up with red fuel.

Just run a bottle of Power Service to clean up injectors/adds lubricity to diesel as well.
