If you can afford it, find a DC powered fridge unit. Some inverters create a lot of "noise" that messes with your CB RxTx ,and to have to run an inverter 24/7 to power an AC fridge may or may not be a good option.

^^^This is great advice if you have a CB and use it a lot.

I don't have one any more, myself. But when I did my fridge did in fact produce some audio interference that was annoying.

I don't mind running my inverter; it's a heavy duty unit with a cooling fan and the fridge doesn't draw much.

You're right...it AIN'T cheap. But it's about as bulletproof as they come. I bought mine about 14 years ago. And except for a power cord that I broke (and obviously keeping it clean); I haven't had to do anything to it....maintenance-wise. It's also portable (though bulky) and draws 2 amps from the 12 volt outlet. To this day it's the smartest truck-related purchase I've ever made.

Sure do. I got a Truckfridge 5 years ago and it's still just as good as the day I bought it.

Even came with a tiny little 'Tupperware style' ice cube tray.
