You might luck out and get a cruise ship--er, Volvo. That info is new to me.

If you can afford it, find a DC powered fridge unit. Some inverters create a lot of "noise" that messes with your CB RxTx ,and to have to run an inverter 24/7 to power an AC fridge may or may not be a good option.
Cottonmouth85 Thanks this. -
Im fine with using the inverter. When in hometime ill just unplug it and bring whatevers left home in a cooler or something
-
^^^This is great advice if you have a CB and use it a lot.
I don't have one any more, myself. But when I did my fridge did in fact produce some audio interference that was annoying.
I don't mind running my inverter; it's a heavy duty unit with a cooling fan and the fridge doesn't draw much. -
You're right...it AIN'T cheap. But it's about as bulletproof as they come. I bought mine about 14 years ago. And except for a power cord that I broke (and obviously keeping it clean); I haven't had to do anything to it....maintenance-wise. It's also portable (though bulky) and draws 2 amps from the 12 volt outlet. To this day it's the smartest truck-related purchase I've ever made.Cottonmouth85, Captain Zoom and fargonaz Thank this.

Reckon you get what you pay for...I'm only expecting a few years out of my little dorm fridge
Cottonmouth85 Thanks this. -
Sure do. I got a Truckfridge 5 years ago and it's still just as good as the day I bought it.
Even came with a tiny little 'Tupperware style' ice cube tray.Captain Zoom Thanks this.
