Does werner allow inverters or apus

i was a student with this company for a few months. unless you have a cpap, they only allow inverter up to 140w or so, basically enough to only run a laptop. forget having a microwave or other cooking appliances. as far as idling goes i believe the policy was the trucks were set to automatic shutdown and no idling, i had two different trainers and the first was a O/O trainer and the 2nd trainer had a cpap. i know their trucks are equipped with bunk heaters, but no APU.
i think their policy sucks and if you are expected to live in a truck you should have the ability to use a microwave and hot plate.
i personally would not advise working for them or any other big mega for that matter. -

Although you don't need an APU if you get a peterbilt or Kenworth.
If you get assigned a freightliner, just quit. They have opti idle programmed to shut down after about 3 hours. Or less.
The opti idle will only allow 30% idle, which means 3 hours for every 10 hours driving. Even if it's 120 degrees in the truck the engine will refuse to idle.
If you get lucky you might get a truck that belonged to someone with a CPAP, which will allow it to idle.
Otherwise the freightliner are an absolute nightmare to live in.
When I was teaming I used to sit up all night on our days off and force the truck to idle so my teammate could sleep on his day off. I seriously hate that. -
If I worked for Weiner, I’d leave the truck running in the fuel island, in Laredo, while I went inside to flirt with the cashiers and eat rollo dogs.

I’m a company driver for Werner. No inverter, only one fit to the cigar lighter. truck will idle when it’s hot out (peterbilt) dumb truck shuts down when cool outside even with a low battery charge. Makes me worry if I have to park on the shoulder for the night if I leave my markers on for others to see me the dumb engine will shut down and kill the battery.
The freight shaker will shut down and start up periodically thru the night to save the battery and keep cab cool but it’s loud and scares the crap out of you thinking someone is stealing the truck in the middle of the night hardly a good way to get your 10 in. My trainers freight shaker shut down while we were waiting to pull out into traffic because of this ‘idle optimization’ it’s a complete sham and safety risk. -
This is pathetic. How do they keep drivers? When I worked there, both my trucks had apu's, but they were in the process of phasing them out. I've been lucky enough to always at least have an inverter in all my trucks so far, and also the ability to idle anytime I want without restriction. I wouldn't drive at all without at least a 1500 watt inverter or equivalent.
