I'm not so sure he did. First he never claimed to give a two week notice (at least I missed it if he did.) Second point is he quit actually the day the quarter ended, but it had not actually ended. He quit 9-30 and the quarter ended on 9-30 at midnight. I.e. the end of the day.
If he would have waited until Monday 10-2 he might have gotten it.
As for the soccer net, yea it sucks, but one should have asked beforehand.

You are seeing hourly pay as black and white, while there are plenty of times hourly pay is "earned" but not paid. Sure the factory worker is fairly black and white. Then there is my wife, the teacher. Is all the homework time paid? Is all the time shopping for supplies paid? The answers would be no, even though she is working and paid hourly.
Point is there is no difference in the eyes of most states, as long as the pay is earned. It's proving it's earned is the problem, and some states are easier to prove than others. -
If i'm reading correctly,
Company bonus= Companies rules.
Op said "this was known-in the Employee handbook.
Should he be given what is earned?Your answer is in the Employee handbook.
I'm just looking from a Owners perspective n going by what the op said.
drh72 Thanks this. -
Not sure where that "quote" came from @Singlescrew ? I posted 3 times in this thread, and never said "Good point".

The point he is trying to make is it's unethical business. Why the hell would he want to come back to that?

Well hopefully the op learned a good lesson here .
....The bonus is a tax write off perk for the company and cannot be counted as earned income even though the one receiving the bonus will pay taxes on it
...the company usually has all the numbers already figured out to fit their needs own first before they hand out the bonuses.
Guys & Girls.- - Unfortunately, we don't live in the same world our parents grew up in . -
I wasn't really treated any worse than the rest of their drivers, until I fought back at the system and the cronies and cliquey brown noser's that work there.
I was frequnetly lied to about available loads, screwed out of detention pay when they would manually do my empty call early at a grocery warehouse, screwed out of hometime to deliver a hot east coast load, only to sit out there for over 2 days at times...but this was pretty common for all of their drivers, not specific to me.
Halvors pay is terrible, near bottom of the barrel even when compared to most bottom feeders. Their bonus program is simply money they hold over your head if they want to screw you. Their top van base pay is only .39 last time checked, reefer pay was .41 or so...for EXPERIENCED DRIVERS...what a joke.
I am not saying they are the worst company in the world to work for, but why didn't you do some research? Or stick around long enough to actually get paid your bonus, then clean out your truck and give them the finger?
One guy on here claims to have sued them and won, not sure if it's true or not...I can say just from my own experience they deserved it.
