I like the Canadians, they have the best beer and "gentlemen clubs" too.

I have heard drivers tell Canadian drivers to "go home" or " I don't like you ####### Canadians" I hear it alot around the Detroit area. what really makes me mad is to hear a Canadian say those things about American drivers in Canada. I don't know why someone would say that especially since we don't like to hear it down in the US,

I know a few Canadian drivers who have dual citizenship who can legally pickup and deliver loads in both countries.

I think if theres a load to haul an your there its all up for fair game..... so your tellin me a canadian cant pick up a load in the states an deliver it somewhere else in the states?

I only know what i've been told. I took a load down, brought one back up. Always been a company driver, just do as my dispatch told me. I've heard a lot of us drivers dont like runnin up here in canada. (too cold, an afriad of snow)
We are all out here as drivers just tryin to make a livin', personally I like runnin' with people from different areas....there interestin to meet an chat with and you tend to learn more!

It is referred to as cabotage I believe.

US drivers can deliver into Canada and then pick a load up and take it back out of Canada to the States. The Canadian drivers have the reverse stipulation. They can bring a load into the states but then have to pick loads up that return to Canada.

    Hey captian canuck
Some people hide in group, hide in/ on the radios. I like what Ron White said (Ya can't fix stupid) The lack of intelligence group seams to be the group a lot of people are joining. So the next time you are rolling on I 69 near Flint Mi. please remember that I thank of canadians as good neighbers.

As for the stupid people out there that still slander and stereotype other people. Just try to remember that your time to be judged will come. WE WILL NOT BE THE JUDGE
So in other wards if you can't fix stupid you can try to be more intelligent.

    You'd be correct.

A driver can cross the border with a load and make a single or multiple drops or, if empty, make a single or multiple picks and then cross the border again.

There are also blind and double blind shipments where the ship or receiver doesn't know where the goods are coming from or going to. There is on shipper in NY that will swear to you I took a load to Florida, but it really when up to Toronto. The company he sold to resold the product to a third company.

If I recall another thread on cabotage, there is a stipulation that, if you are returning empty, you can pick up a load within the US, and deliver it to another point in the US, as long as:
    1) The two points are on your direct route to return to Canada
    2) You will be picking up another load after the dropoff, to take to Canada

Not really sure about this one, but it does make sense to me (so it's probably wrong).

Well try this one on for size, I'm US born, but of Canadian descent (Nova Scotia specifically). A little reminder to our Texas brethren that without the Canadians, there would be no Acadians, or Cajuns. Imagine that. Imagine all of those oilfield jobs that relocated to Texas in the mid '80s.

I live in Alabama, and things are just stupid here. I just let it go. I can't let it make myself crazy. People hear I live in Alabama, or I was born in south Louisiana, and suddenly I drop 50 IQ points. So screw 'em. They can think what they want, but when it crosses the line to destruction of property, then it is time for the local gendarmes, I mean federales, I mean cops to become involved.
