Perhaps you didn't try hard enough?
    I've been ignored...but I'm a persistent #######.
I would have tried and tried until I got to talk to someone, then I would have told them why I'm no longer interested in driving for them.

sorry to hear about your experience, but they do get lots and lots of apps thru the snail mail and online. i cannot think of anything to make an application stand out from all the others, but what i always did was call them weekly. if done online, i contact them, if snail mail i'd call them. people have to be persistent, sometimes to the boiling point of the recruiters.

what may help, is to fill out identical applications, send one in today, one in 3 days. when they enter your SS number (and they do) you will pop up if your application had at least been looked at.

another thing too, is that sometimes there IS something in a persons application that sets off red flags.

    just so you know.

Recruiters should NOT be getting mad at someone who is showing initiative and seriously wants to get hired onto a company.
If anything, they should be happy that such an individual is constantly showing them their initiative and seriousness.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

yes, we should think so. but the head hunters are robots with the instructions from the company to weed out some people. most times, one is never called to be told he/she is denied a job. i cannot see any head hunter being happy about anyone, they follow the company directive(s).

Covenant is the place I want to be.

But I can't get them to respond to me.

If I don't get some satisfaction soon.

I'm going drop my pants and shoot them the moon!

roxy most big companies like stevens, they have a recruiting department their entire job is recruiting. they want to recruit as many people as possible the recruiters are rewarded for the more they recruit. sounds to me you didn't contact the recruiters. most recruiters would tell if you are not qualified or qualified, just simply talk to them. i don't know of many companies that have recruiting department that ignore applicants. their business model is to be a company that pays low pay and it's not worth it to drive for them, but they'll will take anyone with a pulse and try to recruit as much as possible. have you even tried calling their recruiting? sounds like not, from what you said.

The inner workings of a large trucking co are very disorganized ! Think about it, you have recruiting, dispatch, payroll, safety, sales, shop, legal dept, grunts galore doing various chores and NONE of them are inter-connected ! Now facto in drivers and potential drivers. Your app probably gets "looked at" by a grunt, with some basic skills and the authority to yay or nay an app at first glance. In this high tech society, they can punch in your name, SS #, address and D/L # and come up with good info immediately, right ? Much easier to process an app where everything is up to snuff. Something doesn't jive, move on to the next app.
