Does anybody know how I can find out if big trucks are allowed inside the perimeter of a city without using a truck optimized GPS? Some cities allow it, and some don't. I have consulted a Rand McNally Atlas, but of course the atlas shows STAA authorized routes inside the perimete because trucks pick up and deliver there. But if I don't have a delivery, am I still allowed to pass through? That's what I want to find out. I do not have a truck optimized GPS at this time.

from what i can recall, if you ain't got no business in the city, you cannot go there. this is why some big cities have by-passes.
Teivel VP and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this. -
I know it's that way in Atlanta, but I have driven through some smaller cities that have allowed it. I'm trying to figure out a way to find out which cities allow it before I get there and have to look for a sign.

Most big cities will tell you in advance if you must use bypass or not. Or if you have Hazardous Cargo most big cities will tell you to use bypass.
