I am having some trouble with my truck and I hope I can get some help here. I am driving a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia. It has a dd, 15 engine on guard and an automatic transmission.
What is occurring is the HSA light on the dash starts flickering then the abs Light and check engine light Come on. the on guard system errors out and resets randomly. And I have a fairly large list of error codes.
523330- 4
523331-4
1121-9
2919-9
1816-9
1592-9
904-9
I have already been to the dealership once and they replaced the samcab module. But it didn't seem to make a difference. Any suggestion?
Driving me nuts.

If it didn't make a difference why did the Truck Dealer release the truck back to you? Wouldn't they first test it to make sure everything was working fine?Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

It is an intermittent issue. Sometimes it can be 2 or 3 days before this occurs. And sometimes it'll happen for hours at a time. I entered it in the shop twice for this issue common once a freight liner and once at my company shop. Because the codes were inactive, I was told they were unable to determine what the cause was. And since the codes were inactive, they didn't want to to actually do any work.

Sometimes you need to include the source address when positng fault codes. Usually in the form of SA/SPN/FMI...e.g. 160/1121/9. That way I'm not guessing what is throwing the code.
Anyway...
523330/4--Blend Door Actuator Voltage below normal, shorted to low source, or open circuit
523331/4--Recirc Door Actuator - Voltage below normal, shorted to low source, or open circuit
1121/9-- CAN Time Out EBC1
2919/9-- CAN Time Out EBC5
1816/9-- CAN Time Out VDC1
1592/9--J1939 HRW Message (High Resolution Wheel Speed) from ABS is missing
904/9--J1939 EBC2 Message from ABS is missing
So it looks like you might have some HVAC issues with the blend door--low priority.
Then after that, you have ABS module problems. Now, I'm going to take a WAG and assume you work for "schn31d3r," but I could be wrong. They ordered a Detroit powertrain with a stupid OnGuard. The OnGuard is really good at being a "cry-baby" whenever there is a bus offense. In other words, those codes on the OnGuard and possible CPC are SECONDARY. Your main problem here is the ABS module.
Question for you: when you key on, do the ABS valves actuate?Another Canadian driver and Jazz1 Thank this. -
Yes, they do. The abs system has Been checked and the fault is not there.
And yes, I do work for Schneider.
I really wish they could have ignored the on guard. It's one of the most worthless hardware pieces in existence.Another Canadian driver and Jazz1 Thank this. -
Let me guess, it usually shows up on a rough road? I just drove a Frightliner at Prime, 2016, that does the same thing, except when it malfunctions it is always on our nice smooth Interstate System (Sarcasm). It was in 3 times, they replaced various things, never did get fixed. I ended up waiting until I needed to stop, and would turn the key on and off 3 or 4 times and it would reset as the system no longer saw the error condition. Thankfully it was a loaner and I turned it in. Not sure who drove it next, and I have a feeling there was a reason it was a loaner.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

I'd work your way up on the chain of command with that unit. Jeff V. would be your guy.
I think it needs a new ABS module. Your fleet specifically is aware of the ongoing issues with their configuration they order all their trucks with.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

How did you solve the problem ?
I have the same issueAnother Canadian driver Thanks this.
