Here’s one, I ask about getting the headlights adjusted because they shine on the ground. Oh that’s not possible anymore. Well according to the manual it is but that’s ok I can put some washers behind the studs to get them higher.
I do what I can but that is only so much because I don’t have the authority to buy anything. We aren’t supposed to work on nothing.

Generally the best drivers are employed. You may need a hook to get their attention. Company down the road offers a $5000 signing bonus. We know that's bait 'n switch

Just make sure to set your rules NightGunner. My friend who owns and runs a 10 truck fleet does this. DO NOT DRIVE AFTER 10PM, if you do your on your own.

Dont wanna get them calls at 2am talking about boss, I broke the airline what do you want me to do. Much harder to get restful sleep and enjoy good quality of life when your drivers are working over night while you sleep.

You can find someone good, real good, but it won't last. Because as soon as the guy is able, he's gonna do his own thing.

Same with me. I jumped around. For like, 3 years. Kept leaving due to breakdowns & pay issues. Also some lies. Mostly breakdowns. Lots of garbage on the road these days. Always having issues Tires. Lights. Air lines. DEF system. At one point I was thinking "Am I gonna be able to know how to take care of a truck? If I become an owner operator?"

All that worrying I did, for nothing. Been owner operator for about a month now. Leased on. So far I've done 2 oil changes, flushed the coolant, replaced air filter, belts, and upgraded the headlights.

I'm a young gun. 24. But I take pride in this. Kept looking for that one job with an owner that needs a truck ran and kept well. No luck for me tho. Purchased my own back in August. I've been running it since October. 1995 FLD running better than any one of the '12 '13 trucks that I drove working for others....

I read these posts and it just looks like cry baby millennials who think they deserve everything handed to them.

I'm sorry, but jumping from job to job because you want better pay tells me you're not doing a good job of researching the companies you've gone to work for. All you've seen is dollar signs and jumped. When I see applicants who put down there reason for leaving was better pay, I start to question how long they'll stay before someone else flashes money I their face and they you and leave. Granted, I don't have company drivers, I just deal with owner operators instead. What I tell every owner operator that is interested in leasing on is this, "all I offer you is the tools and the opportunity to make money. What you do with the tools I provide and the opportunity is up to you! This is work, not charity!"

    Lol. Yeah dude that's great

Even though I want to go out and EARN an honest living you still consider me a "crybaby millennial". Even though I EARNED the truck I'm driving, it doesn't matter because I'm a "crybaby millennial" and you think I believe I should not have had to work for it. And even though its gonna be paid off by end of December, it still won't matter because, well, I'm a millennial. Right?

Blue collar?? What's that? Never heard of that before....

It's not always the earning part being the issue. Sometimes it's getting paid on time or getting reimbursed for company expenses.. At least it was for me

I bet I’m older than you. Far from your crybaby’s. Sometimes people have to change careers when they didn’t want to and have to work up from the bottom. I guess they should just work for nothing. Who needs a $2-3 raise or any kind of benefits. Sorry honey we can’t pay the power bill this month I had to stay on this deadend job instead of the one that pays more. Lololol. Wow.

See your crying again. You expect to be paid for working. Don’t you know that company owner has a ski trip planned. When you gonna learn to donate your work and be a real man. Lololol.
