    I calculated 5 yards, it's inadequate.

Call it about 4 by 4 feet about 3 high maybe at most.

Im thinking 12 yards. A whole mixer load. =) The concrete itself would only cost about 70 dollars a yard at most. The labor to smooth it and build a mold for it would be a few days in total.

My those poles are expensive. As soon I saw that pole sitting there in a dock area unprotected, Im half tempted to accuse whoever built the #### thing without proper protection.... just to save about two thousand dollars.

A cubic yard is 27 feet or 3x3x3. Your 4x4x3 is about 1.7 yards. Unless I did my math wrong again.....

No you did not do it wrong, I had a formula based on 3x3x3 once and had forgotten. Thank you for the reeducation.

Worked heavy construction for many years, many years ago. Forgot a whole lot but when I was in my prime i could figure out how many concrete trucks to order to fill up 7 pilings which were 42 inch diameter pipe 70 feet deep foundations.

Or a hexagon shaped footing 50 feet across 15 feet deep, how many concrete trucks to order in that morning. Stuff like that.

@x1Heavy I am in your neck of the woods at the moment. Customer rejected 1000 pounds of raspberries and I'm still waiting for word from my company what to do with these overripe, soft berries. Chances are pretty good they will have me get rid of them at my discretion. I might need some help figuring out how to do that if you have any ideas in Arkansas, let me know.

Little Rock Court Complex next to the Captiol down here on I-630 took months to fill a few hundred 42 foot bore holes down to bedrock. I remember throwing down 5 loads in one hole and nothing yet. I asked them how deep, they said bedrock. 5 yards apart. I had a old Autocar with a 12 yard bucket.

I think if there was that New Madrid Quake that courthouse will still be standing.

The Cypress freeway rebuild foundations were 42 inch pipe pilings. We'd drive one 70 footer down to about 5 feet sticking out of the earth and weld another 70 footer on top of that and drive it down. 7 of these pilings made up one column footing. We'd drill the bay mud out down to 70 feet deep on all 7 pilings leaving a 70 foot mud plug in the bottom. Suspend a rebar cage in the pipe pilings and fill with concrete.

Anywhere there was a turn in the bridge, those footings had over 20 pilings.

There is a landfill in Jacksonville Arkansas down US 67.

If those rejects are overripe, they have to get trashed. A landfill would be where it counts. The problem is someone has to pay the fee to the scale master at the landfill for disposal of your 1000 pounds of bad berries.

I don't know if you been up a landfill goat path, but it's currently raining and that will be mud by now.
