Every time I am confronted with a intersection where asking a row of cars to backup, I will never forget that large Baltimore lady who refused to move a inch. I was in a milk truck turning right into what was the Greenspring Dairy off Jones Falls at that light. She would not move or backup, everyone else did for 50 yards, all 5 of them.
So there I am clogging up 4 separate roads stuck on that Lady. Local City cop shows up and made her move with one simple threat. I will get a big tow truck and pick up your car and go away with it and you inside if you do not get off my pavement right now.
She moved. Yelling all the way.

Sometimes you have to clog up the whole works to do your job safely, but getting her done safely is what makes a professional. I have had to sit in bad places waiting for the ones in a hurry to get on by, then was left with all the great people who would wait and give you the time and room needed. Them people who do have the patience to let you do your job safely are the greatest, would love to at least shake every one of them hands and say thank you...but then you making more wait.
misterG, blairandgretchen, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
I had the same... delivered to a paper recycling place in PA. I had an Intersection I need to make a right at. I had a long nose Pete so I had to take the other side's lane. This guy would not back up and he was the only one sitting there... so I call the local LEO and they came out. Told the guy to back up or he will get a ticket for impeding traffic... My trailer tires were all the way up and at the curb... I needed about 5 more feet to make it without taking down the poles at the corner..

Centerville has an in credible 3D mural painted on the wall of a building that makes the building look like the hillside behind it. I hope you are going the right way so you got to see that thing
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Good thing he's not in a Tesla--might think the wall actually IS the hillside!Mattflat362, x1Heavy and RoadRooster Thank this.

He should start in the right lane close to the curb and buttonhook it, right @scottied67 ?Mudguppy and scottied67 Thank this.

Wonder how many spin off right turn threads we can make out of something else. This like number 20? I lost track lol
According to the cdl manual all light poles and orange cones (college referenced them as old ladies on the corner) are safe if we do it all by the book.
Lets just impede traffic and sit through 5 sets of lights with lots of horns honking because your waiting for that 1 nice person who sees your right signal so you can come across the left turn center lane.
I waited through 3 sets of lights just down the street from our terminal when i was fresh off the training grounds. Since then i just time the light and split the lane because i deal with a tighter turn and traffic comming out of a gas station. Mind you the corner cements already been blown up from years of getting ran over. No one will do anything about it.
Kudos to Gunner for CYA -
Excellent. Very well done. Bravo Zulu.
x1Heavy Thanks this.
