I'm seriously considering moving to Prime. I've heard solo drivers don't do any West Coast driving… Only teams do. Is this true? Are there any exceptions? Could I go out west if I requested it, or is it a policy?

Most of the West coast freight is produce team stuff. If you're from that region and your dispatcher is out of salt lake city, you'll likely run the western 11 and 98% chance you'll never see anything pass the Mississippi river. I live in Washington and I'm dispatch from Springfield and the only way I get home is when I request to go that way otherwise I don't go past I25. Yes you can go west of you ask to go that way for home time or just tell your dispatcher you want to see the west and he'll put you in a sight seeing loop, but be careful what you ask for, lol.

I team now, but I saw all 48 in the year and a half I was solo at Prime. The last one was Washington.

I'm from South Texas, and coming off home time I would run Laredo to Michigan almost every time. After that I would mainly run east of Chicago, north of Tennessee until it was time to head home again. But sometimes I would shoot out west or down south. By far most of my time was spent in the northeast though.

If you live out west, flatbed has Western Regional. Be prepared to get to know California very well on it.

I asked my dispatcher about running west of the rockies..He said they try to keep solo guys east of the rockies and its mostly teams doing the west side or solo guys who dispatch out of salt lake. Granted they can send you on random trips but it's not gonna be a regular thi g from what Ive heard.

As far as team loads in Cali, all the ones I did were in the very boing Valley areas.. however we did get a few nice loads in Oregon and Washington.. well I mean nice as far as being able to see nice scenery. Honestly I prefered the trips up to Was and Oregon over Cali because man the hihways in Cali are just loaded with trash..

Most Cali runs are teams, I have made one trip solo to the Oakland area and several as team to various Cali locations. I have been to Washington and Oregon several times, both solo and team.

I am now near Seattle, solo, lease, 2800$ to here, and 3800$ from here to Chicago area, 2800$ went into one week pay after all deductions will get 300$ max on hands, 3800 will go for another week. Not worth it. My previous comment was deleted by moderator i think. Where is freedom of speach? I have my own opinion. So far, not good, just started Leasing, after 4 weeks am in negative 300$, and i am driving, not taking home time, they give me loads 1$ per mile or less, a lot of confusion. Anyway, i have a question to PRO Prime drivers, can i refuse loads? I do not see other option, otherwise my LLC screwed the way things are running, this dispatcher has no clue what he is doing probably.I am 2 weeks without pay next week.
