The company claims they 'cannot just pull up video.' But we have issue after issue here which seems to contradict that. Of course they only told that little lie to make driver's feel comfortable with the intrusion and micromanagement.
Hear is the classic case. Either the driver is lying about not having a 'critical event' or the company is lying about the driver cams capability.Tb0n3 Thanks this. -
Honestly I’m over the cam. It used to upset me when I first saw it and had it in my space.
I always felt like it was scrutinizing me, my driving, even listening to what I might say about the company when talking to friends on Bluetooth. It has a little led light so it looks like the HAL talking computer from Space Odyssey 2000. And that light is always on. Ridiculous right?
Now 18 months later I couldn’t care less. The thing is actually useless really. Somebody ran into me while I was in line and it didn’t even capture the collision for safety to view later. Turned out I didn’t need the footage anyways. But it’s unimportant to me now. Just like a camera in Walmart. Who cares. Record away and waste time reviewing me. I can’t be bothered. -
You're a better man than I am then. If I see a driver facing camera in any truck I get into, I will turn my hairy ### right around and tell them no thanks. I'm an adult...and want to be treated as such.

I’m actually torn a little bit because I think driver cameras helping weed out texting drivers could be a good thing. Texting is a serious epidemic. I don’t know what can be done about it. But if a driver is caught texting when he sets off his camera, I say buhbye and c-ya! Then a camera in somebody else’s truck (not mine) makes me happy.

They record constantly. The driver cam cheerleaders will tell you the cam 'loops' meaning if the file wasn't saved by the driver or a critical event, it is automatically recorded over by the next 'loop'. Who's to say they don't save a few random files in a hidden folder to be uploaded to the master monitor later for review. Especially if the unit hasn't had a critical event all day, it is easy to imagine a tech would download some footage of that driver's camera just to make sure it is working properly.
