If you're held up at a shipper or receiver your dispatch will reflect that and you will have enough time to make it on time.
Regarding Queens it was tricky, but it was doable and by the time you're ready you'll enjoy the challenge. I went in in the frame of mind that idiots do this everyday I'm sure I can do it once.Gin86 Thanks this. -
Update.....I called the community college here, and found out they have an option to take a shorter class (120 hours) if you have your permit before class starts. Saves about $600. Would yall recommend I do that or just learn everything at the school? My thought process is I could use that extra time to start studying for hazmat and tanker endorsements.

I would check with the companies that you are looking into, to see whether they will accept that. In my research i have found most, if not all, want at a minimum of 160 hrs. I know there are some that have approved lists and some that want more than 160.

@Chinatown what's your opinion on Maverick and their flatbed division?

Some companies will accept 120 hr. school, but doubt any tanker companies will except Schneider Bulk. Some companies want 240 hr. school.
Ask the community college which companies recruit from the 120 hr. class. Call any companies you're interested in and ask which one they accept.Last edited: Dec 5, 2017
