In NJ I took my cdl class a road test. I passed the pre trip inspection and basic manevures but failed the actual road driving part. Do I have to take the whole test over again or just the part I failed? Can’t get find a straight answer. Thanks.

What part of failed don't compute?
You will have to take it again. I think it's a certain amount of time to give it another go. -

In WA state you only have to retake part of test that you failed. IE if you failed driving test and passed pre trip and backing part then you only have to do driving test again.

He might had ran the red light or hit a curve or stop in neutral. That's a automatic failed

From what my instructor told me at the school I’m going to, since you passed your Pre-trip and backing, you should only have to retake the road test. He is referring to what other students have had when they’ve failed the test, in NJ. Which DMV did you go to?

In LA you only have to retake the part you failed, but you can only fail it like once or twice then you have to redo the whole thing.
