You have to have fire extinguisher re-certified every year. Where do you get it done? Last company I was leased onto I'd go in their shop and they would give me a newer certified extinguisher for my older one for like $10 charge.

I'm not so sure you have to, however, any fire extinguisher place will do them. Most decent sized cities have a place that handles the fire extinguishers locally, they refill them, certify them, replace them as needed, sell new ones, whatever. Just google fire extinguisher + your city and you'll find a place.

There is a sticker on the side of fire extinguisher that has to be inspected every year by certified personnel. Otherwise its not legal, not sure what's the penalty for it. Just like DOT certification for truck/trailer, needs to be renewed annually. .

I've seen those but I've never seen a dot regulation that says it needs a current cert. I could be completely wrong of course.
