It's always possible he had a medical issue too... let's not always assume the worst, even though our experience out on the road screams "cell phone". I thought the same thing at first too... but you never know...

continued... Just saying, we have enough of the police, 4-wheelers, insurance companies, lawyers and Safety Directors always assuming the worst and blaming everything that happens on USA roads on us, so let's at least give our fellow truckers the benefit of the doubt until the facts are known.

I think based on this image in this particular crash, it's safe to assume at least one truck driver bears most of the responsibility. Barring the 1-50,000 chance of complete brake failure, I don't seen how we can not fault a truck driver here. Facts (completed accident investigation publishings) are rarely made available to the public later (even many years later) so we are only left to draw our own conclusions and conjecture TODAY immediately following the crash and news report.

The person is passed on. No one can hurt them worse than they are now, whether its justifiable criticism or not. My thoughts go to a higher level personally, saying God have mercy on their soul, and prayers to others injured and family left to grieve.

Woulda shoulda coulda always makes the judger feel strong, until we are humbled and shamed by some type of mistake of our own and then seek empathy, understanding, and mercy that we dont always give.

Swift has half of their trucks dialed down to 62 and they still managed to wreck spectacularly.

65 mph is plenty fast if you hit something stopped or going slow.
