Going to Canada in an ungoverned truck

I believe it was the Michaud case where a judge acknowledged in Ontario court that speed limiters put truck drivers at risk but he said the benefit to the motoring public outweighed the risk to drivers. In my mind when a worker is put at risk this is at very least, a workplace safety issue and possibly a charter of rights issue. Especially when there is no evidence to suggest that speed limiters have done anything to make cars safer.

 

Just use some epoxy to glue your ELD into the diagnostic port. That way, they can't plug in their little checker tool.

 

Yep, everybody turtle racin' down the road and somebody suddenly stops or slows down and guess what?? News time.

 

It's like at Daytona or Talladega...all bunched up until "the big one" takes out 1/2 the field...

 

As the above poster said, it is unconstitutional but they let the law stand anyway.

OK I get it, I know about that but the states have agreed to the FMCSA regulations and only can modify them to become more stringent, they can't ignore or make a law that counters one or another regulation because of the agreement.

 

I know someone who actually cut the plug off and replaced it with a jones connector.

 

Ive been all over Canada including Ontario and Quebec. Never been checked for speed limiter. I could care less for Canada. My company keeps me busy in U.S.

 

And I'm sure they could care less about you.
