jbrewer87 won't have any problems finding the right job; this subjects been on here numerous times in the past and the OP's were successful.
Wish I could remember the companies they went with, but it's been awhile. Seems like Central Transport was one company, but they're now Swift which is now under Knight management.

TransAm Trucking will probably hire the OP. Being trans has nothing to do with the current search for a new job, other than being up front from the beginning with a potential new employer. Some employers might start fidgeting and chain smoking during an interview. Currently runs local now and wants to try OTR, if I understand the other thread correctly. If I owned a few trucks and looking for another driver, definitely would grant an interview to someone with 3 yrs. experience, even if it is local.
The other thread, OTR is the goal. Craigslist is also a good source of jobs.

 

Don't take this wrong OP but no one would care unless you make it a point to make them care. I have a few in my trucks that are gay and they told me about them being gay like it was so important to tell me so I told them what I tell everyone, I don't care I judge you by who you are not what you are until you tell me what you are.

 

What do you think makes a company lgbtq friendly? I've never in my life been asked if I've always been this gender or what my sexual orientation is. Are you intending to make an issue out of your gender/perceived gender/sexual orientation? If so then I would suggest that that is inappropriate behavior on your part. If not then you have no reason to worry about it.

 

Alright. Let me play devil's advocate here for a moment. The OP was explicit that it was a transsexual issue. The vast majority of trans individuals are MTF which means that they may have an issue with co-workers, or others due to not displaying perfectly as female. ie still having male characteristics. I believe it might be hard to find small companies which won't have employees that take issue with this, but the law would be on your side regardless.

 

People take issues with other people for being fat, skinny, tall, short, light skinned, or dark skinned. The good news is that trucking lets people get away from others a whole lot more than other jobs.

Get over yourself, stop trying to act like a special snowflake, and people won't take such an issue with you.

 

Back when I was a trainer I had a guy student that was a cross dresser. It was something new to me but did not stop from training him. I don't think anyone would care. My student wanted to go in truck stop cross dressing, not sure if he was joking about that just because he looked like a guy with a dress. I did not think that would go over very good with the other drivers. This was 15 years ago. No one in the trucking company cared, I don't even think they knew.
