This ELOG Thread

This is what I find interesting. Is it really about safety or has some manufacturer figured out how to mandate a steady stream of customers for their $2,500 machines?

And the newest ones rat you out with monitoring software. Didn't use it? Email to the Safety Dept. Got up to piss at 4am? "Why did you leave your sleeper at 6 hours into your 8 hour break?"

I understand we're a regulated industry, but when I found out one of the companies my wife used to work for allowed employees to keep BEER in the break room fridge (!!) I thought to myself, "what kind of world do the white collar workers live in?"

I also wonder why we don't check medical professionals for sleep apnea, hours of service and random drug screening?

After all, would you want open heart surgery from a doctor who was popping opioids, hadn't had 8 hours of sleep in a week and had been on duty for 14 hours that day?

(Also the guy who does my CDL physical is a FOOT wider than me and 6" SHORTER! You really want to get into BMI lectures with me Doc?)

 

The government bureaucracy doesn't give a crap about what we want as individual citizens.

They only respond to big business special interest groups that contribute big money into their coffers.

Did you see any representative from OOIDA yucking it up with the president?

That would be a big NO!
