You are correct in every way.
I could not have said it better. These fleece purchase companies put on one hell of a sales pitch to sucker in drivers like a modern day medicine show lol. Many of them fail to realize that they are actually "at will employees" and not contractors lol. They have no rights to the asset or say in he operation. Doesn't matter what they scribbled on or signed. (insert more lol)
I sat down with a "pretend owner operator" from prime the other day a Petro and ran his numbers and showed him the raw truth. He was not happy. But the truth hurts sometimes. He is currently in an application process to be a company driver (with a different trucking company) with decent pay out of his home town. Last I heard he will be turning in his pretend owner operator truck in next week. I told him to leave like a man....not a child. Always bring the truck back and leave with self respect intact. He was pretty pissed off.

That is by my choice. I'm single with no kids or responsibly. I'm working hard for this year so I end up with a paid off truck and after that I work how much I want.

Perhaps it's you thats under the delusion that us drivers doing it dont understand the situation. I'm under no delusion that I will never own this truck, it's a lease. I put zero dollars down.. I made to my bank account $2 grand last week and 2 grand the week before after all expenses but taxes.. I have $10k in my bank account that I didnt have 2,5 months ago.. I'm getting used so much its like slave labor...

Tell me how many company guys make that.. Its very simple, if I stop making the money I feel is worth my time, then I turn the truck in and go elsewhere..

I'm betting you complain in all these kinda topics.. I guess in the "old" days you had your pick of $100k a year jobs your first day with your cdl and you bought your truck with money saved up from turning in coke bottles...

    Things change...

plenty of company drivers makes 1k or better a week.

The plus side to that is they only pay 7.5% to social security, you owe 15%.

Not to mention your tax bill at the end of the year..

Tax bill is much lower with a LLC today than it was last year.. I will pay less in taxes than a employee.. Not to mention I have the ability to write things off and re-invest..

Good for the company driver who makes 1k a week.. I'm not that short sighted, I do and I plan to make much more than 1k a week over the course my my time driving.

    Zivvy and Oldironfan Thank this.

You've had 1 day off in 2/12 months,
With 3 years left to go to finish the lease.
Have fun trying to keep up that pace.
One slow period and your toast.
It's a walk away lease, walk away.
