Wow dude you sure drew the short straw there buddy, with miles though unless they guarantee you that in writing there's not alot you can do except leave, this is where due diligence comes in very handy, see those companies that pay for your training know they've got you legally bound even if you leave you've still got the debt to pay back so they'll assume you'll stay, the big wigs in the corporate box must have there top accountants working on the principle that helps them make the biggest profits, hence many many years ago the socialist, and union movements came about because of the way employer's treated employee's and when one thinks about it nothings really changed in the last 100 years.

I watched one of their drivers back into a Western Express flatbed last night at the Pilot in Stanfield, OR.
She got out and as soon as she realized the driver wasn’t in the truck, she left the scene. But, I got her truck number and a picture of her. I gave the info to the WE driver when he got back to his truck.
Kind of surprised the flash didn’t get her attention.Lonesome and Sandman 660 Thank this. -
Your experience with swift is completely typical. In fact it wasn't as bad as it could have been. And as a quick aside a lease purchase is is not an owner owner-operator, they are a fleece purchase victim. If you thought you were getting ripped off you have no idea how bad that guy actually had it because he didn't do his homework and wasn't smart so he had a lot of reason to be angry. Driving truck for the first three years is going to be pretty much garbage unless you get really lucky and find a good company that actually cares about you which is rare. If you have child support driving a truck isn't the job for you at least not at this stage of the game. The best option you could do is try to find something local that has you home every day where you can actually see your wife and kids even though you won't make that much money at least atleast you're home. I like you started it Swift and left within 6 months. I have excellent credit and so I was able to go out and actually purchase my own vehicle under traditional financing which means a monthly payment. The lease purchase is a weekly payment leaves the driver pretty much broke indefinitely. As soon as I bought my own truck and refused their lease purchase the loads dried up. The company that I moved to those smaller and a lot more personal wasn't really any better. In a lot of ways it was worse. I'm not saying expect to work for criminals or settle for a bad company but the first few years you have almost no decision-making power to find a good company because almost no one will hire you due to lack of experience. Either way you look at it it's going to be a rough deal for the first three years so psychologically prepare for that and leave Swift as fast as you can. Good luck driverLonesome Thanks this.

Things were slow in 2009. Bad Economy. I got back into trucking in 2010 and went with TMC. They were not hiring in 2009. Both the recruiter who came to my school and the person who ran the orientation had to get in a truck and drive in order to keep their jobs.

I started my career with Boyd Bros. I have recently heard on the radio they have a new pay package that pays a salary of $1500/wk with 48 hrs at home every weekend. Of course you would have to be in their hiring area.

Can you see your reflection in a mirror. More importantly, can you fog a mirror? If so, then yes!!Lonesome, Frank Speak and Crude Truckin' Thank this.

Big Macs can really fog my mirrors. Especially if I add a half bottle of Tabasco!
